Salon Kitty

The Story

Salon Kitty is a contemporary Australian musical set within the glittering walls of Sydney’s most exclusive brothel, where fantasy, desire and human connection are bought and sold every night. At its centre is Miss Kitty, the charismatic madam who has spent a lifetime creating a world where lonely souls can find comfort, companionship and acceptance.

When Marcus, an undercover reporter with secrets of his own, takes a job behind the bar, the carefully curated world Miss Kitty has built begins to unravel. As relationships deepen and hidden truths emerge, the lives of workers, clients and outsiders become entwined in ways none of them could have imagined. What begins as an investigation becomes a journey of discovery, forgiveness and belonging.

Featuring a contemporary score that blends rock, pop, cabaret and musical theatre, Salon Kitty is a moving and often humorous exploration of loneliness, family, dignity and the search for connection.

Beneath its provocative setting lies a deeply human story about finding acceptance, embracing who we are and discovering that love can emerge in the most unexpected places.
